The Sims 4 offers a few different ways to bring ghosts back to the land of the living. Whether through special items, skills, or supernatural help, death doesn’t always have to be the end for your Sims.
Asking the Grim Reaper for Mercy
Right after a Sim dies, the Grim Reaper shows up to do his job. This is your first and fastest chance to stop the whole thing. Another Sim can step in and plead for the dead Sim’s life.
The Sim doing the pleading needs to be in a good mood. Fine or happy works. If they feel bad, the option will not even show up.
Even when everything lines up, the Reaper usually says no. Most of the time, he ignores the plea and takes the Sim anyway.
If that happens, do not panic. You still have other options once the Sim becomes a ghost.
Feeding a Ghost Ambrosia
This is the most reliable method in the game. If a ghost eats Ambrosia, they return to life immediately.
The challenge comes from making the dish. Ambrosia is powerful, but getting it is the real challenge. You need some very specific items, and they are not easy to come by.
You will need to get your hands on a Death Flower, catch an Angelfish, and have a Potion of Youth ready to use.
On top of that, your Sim needs maxed-out Cooking and Gourmet Cooking. Without both at level ten, the recipe stays locked.
Once you have the dish, make sure the ghost eats it. No ceremony required. They will revive on the spot.
Using the Book of Life
Writers get a special kind of power if they reach the top of their career. They can write a Book of Life that brings a Sim back from the dead.
The writer has to record that Sim’s life while they are still alive. If the Sim dies before their story is fully captured, the chance is gone, and a Book of Life can never be made for them.
Each resurrected Sim needs their own book, so this method works best if you plan ahead and know who you might want to save later.
Letting a Ghost Wish for Life Again
Ghosts can visit a Wishing Well and ask to be alive again. This option is very risky.
Everything depends on the well’s mood at that moment. When the mood is good, the ghost may come back instantly or receive something that helps them return.
When the mood is bad, the wish fails, and nothing changes. There is no way to force the outcome, so this path is all about luck.
Using Magic to Reverse Death
Spellcasters get access to resurrection through a powerful spell called Dedeathify. Only very experienced spellcasters can use it.
The ghost you want to revive must still exist in the world. As long as they are around, the spellcaster can cast the spell directly on them and bring them back to life.
