Teenage Sims who enjoy pulling pranks at school can actually die from one of their own stink capsules.
The Sims 4: High School Years adds Death by Stink Capsule, which can happen when a stink capsule backfires while your Sim is planting or defusing it.
Your Sim needs to be a prankster and have access to stink capsules. You can use them to prank lockers at school.
When your Sim plants a stink capsule, there’s a chance it can backfire and explode in their face. This releases a stink cloud and gives your Sim the Self-Stinked buff.
The prank can also affect other Sims. If someone opens a locker that has been pranked with a stink capsule while your Sim is nearby, the stink cloud can affect them and give them the Stinked buff.
Pranksters can even plant stink capsules in their own lockers if they really want to live dangerously.
If you’ve changed your mind about a prank, click the locker containing the stink capsule and select Defuse Prank.
However, there’s still a risk involved. The stink capsule can backfire while your Sim is trying to defuse it, so removing the prank isn’t completely safe either.
The obvious way to avoid this death is to stop using stink capsules. If one of your Sim’s pranks backfires, keep an eye on them while they’re affected by the stink-related buffs.
If your Sim gets covered in the stink cloud, send them to the bathroom to wash up and get rid of the smell.
And if you’re deliberately trying to trigger this death, keep planting or defusing stink capsules and accept that eventually one of those pranks may go very, very wrong.
