There are plenty of ways to make your Sim feel Confident in The Sims 4.

The quickest method is usually to have them brush their teeth, but several packs add their own ways to trigger Confident Moodlets.

So, the easiest way to make your Sim Confident is to go to a bathroom, click on a sink, and select Brush Teeth.

This gives your Sim a Confident Moodlet that lasts for four hours, making it one of the quickest ways to get the emotion when you need it.

If you want your Sim to feel Confident more often, give them the Self-Assured trait in Create-a-Sim.

Self-Assured Sims have an easier time becoming Confident, making this trait particularly useful for Sims who need to perform Confident interactions regularly.

Use the Psych Up interaction. Click on a mirror and select Psych Up. Your Sim will give themselves a quick confidence boost.

You can also use Practice Speech at a mirror to help your Sim become Confident.

Sims can become Confident after successfully overcoming certain fears.

If your Sim has a fear that can be conquered, confronting it can give them a strong confidence boost.

This is particularly useful if you’re already working on your Sim’s Wants and Fears rather than simply trying to create a temporary mood.

Successfully completing certain activities can make your Sim Confident.

For example, Sims can become Confident after achieving certain skill-related successes, such as completing a high-quality painting or catching a rare fish.

A Confident Sim can also paint a Confident Painting, which can be more valuable depending on its quality.

Positive social interactions can give Sims Confident Moodlets, particularly when they successfully impress or help another Sim.

Building friendships can therefore provide plenty of opportunities for your Sim to become Confident without deliberately using mirrors or cheats.

Career success can also make Sims feel Confident. A promotion or a particularly successful workday can give your Sim a confidence boost.

This makes careers another useful source of Confident Moodlets if you’re already trying to advance your Sim professionally.

Use Mischief and successfully pull off pranks.

Successful Mischief interactions can sometimes make your Sim Confident.

If you own High School Years, teenagers have additional opportunities to use Mischief at school, including pranking the whiteboard, PA system, and lockers.

These interactions can also have consequences if your Sim gets caught, so they’re not exactly a risk-free way to become Confident.

If you own Horse Ranch, your Sim can build the Horse Riding skill and gain Confident Moodlets from riding.

As the Horse Riding skill increases, Sims have a higher chance of getting a Confident Moodlet while riding. At Level 9, they are more likely to become Very Confident while riding.

This makes horse riding one of the better pack-specific options for Sims who regularly spend time with horses.

If you own Enchanted by Nature, your Sim can also become Confident through Natural Living activities.

At Level 5 of the Natural Living skill, Sims are more likely to receive a Confident Moodlet after using Natural Living interactions.

This is especially useful for Sims following an outdoor or nature-focused lifestyle.

If you own Adventure Awaits, successful dives can give your Sim a Confident Moodlet.

The Diving skill is introduced with the pack, and EA specifically lists a successful dive as a way to become Confident.

As a result, diving gives you another repeatable way to build confidence while also developing the Diving skill.

Make your Sim Confident with a cheat.

If you don’t want to wait for a Confident Moodlet, you can add one directly with a cheat.

Press Ctrl + Shift + C to open the cheat console on PC.

Enter testingcheats true and press Enter.

Enter sims.add_buff ConfidentHigh and press Enter.

Your selected Sim will immediately receive the Confident Moodlet.

You can also use sims.add_buff e_buff_confident to give your Sim a longer-lasting Confident Moodlet.

If you own Growing Together, pay attention to your children’s confidence as they grow up.

The pack adds a stronger focus on children’s development and how their experiences shape them as they age.

This is different from simply applying a temporary Confident Moodlet, so it’s worth treating childhood confidence as part of your Sim’s long-term development rather than just another way to change their current emotion.

Once your Sim becomes Confident, additional interactions and activities become available.

Depending on their skills and circumstances, they can do things such as paint a Confident Painting, use confident social interactions, and perform other activities affected by their current emotion.

If you’re trying to get a particular Confident interaction, brushing their teeth or using Psych Up at a mirror is usually much faster than waiting for a random confidence boost.
