Sages in The Sims 4 are special NPCs you can’t control. Even if your Sim reaches the highest ranks of magic, they still can’t become a Sage.
If a Sage is ever removed, the game generates a new one to keep the balance of the Magic Realm.
However, your Sim can unlock the Rite of Ascension, the top ability in the Practical Magic branch. This spell allows them to turn other Sims into Spellcasters and give them unique magical skills.
Even though your Sim can’t become a Sage, they can marry one. You can then add that Sage to your playable household.
Just keep in mind that as soon as they move in, they lose their Sage status, and the game will automatically create a new Sage to replace them.
If you leave a Sage in a non-playable household, they’ll keep their title without any issues.
The Sims 4 features three Sages.
- L. Faba: Sage of Mischief Magic
- Simeon Silversweater: Sage of Practical Magic
- Morgyn Ember: Sage of Untamed Magic
Sages play a key role in helping your Sim grow their magical skills, and they follow strict in-game rules.
They’re programmed to stay at their designated stations, which ensures they’re always easy to find when your Sim needs guidance.
They act as mentors for aspiring spellcasters, guiding Sims through the process of gaining magical abilities.
To learn from a Sage, your Sim needs to first become friends with them and still have an available spell to learn at their current rank.
Your Sim doesn’t need to be best friends with a Sage, but they do need at least a bit of familiarity. If they haven’t built even a small relationship, the Sage won’t teach them anything.
And remember, after your Sim learns a spell, the option to learn another will stay greyed out for a short time.
Sages can also reverse the transformation, allowing a Spellcaster to return to being a regular Sim again.
Happy Simming!
