Here’s a simple guide to keeping vampires safe from sunlight in The Sims 4.
Carry an Umbrella
The easiest way to keep a vampire from burning up during the day is to give them an umbrella. When your vampire carries it, the sun won’t hurt them.
Just pay attention, because if they start interacting with other Sims, they’ll automatically close the umbrella. This can be tricky at events, like a wedding on a sunny beach in Sulani.
Make sure to manage your vampire’s actions so they stay under the umbrella when needed.
Build Sun Resistance
Vampires get stronger as they level up. Reaching Tier 4 and becoming a Master Vampire unlocks the Sun Resistance ability. There are three levels of resistance.
The first level gives some protection, but the vampire can still overheat in strong sunlight. The second level reduces the sun’s effect more, but daytime caution is still needed.
The final level, Perfect Sun Resistance, lets vampires walk around in direct sunlight safely without fear of burning.
Sun Resistance works by slowing down the drain on Vampire Energy caused by sunlight. The first two levels only make the sun less dangerous, so exposure is still risky. Only Perfect Sun Resistance gives full immunity.
⇒ Fun Fact:
- Even vampires with Perfect Sun Resistance can’t get a suntan. They’ll always keep that pale look, no matter how much sun they face.
Cheats for Instant Sun Protection
If you don’t want to wait for leveling, cheats can give vampires instant Sun Resistance or even Perfect Sun Resistance. This lets them roam in the daylight right away, which can be handy for storytelling or playing in sunny worlds.
