Nannies or babysitters can be a big help when your Sims are overwhelmed or have too much to do around the house.
How to Get a Nanny in The Sims 4
- Pick Up the Phone:
- Select Hire a Service.
- Go to the Career and Household Section:
- Choose Nanny.
- When the Last Sim Leaves the Lot:
- A pop-up message will appear, suggesting you either hire a babysitter or send the baby/toddler to daycare.
Nannies are game-generated Sims who come over to look after your kids when you hire them.
They can be male or female, and they’ll take care of the basics like feeding, changing diapers, and keeping toddlers entertained.
Additionally, nannies will help tidy up the house by:
- Putting things in their place
- Emptying the potty
- Making the beds
- Doing the dishes after the kids eat
- Performing other household tasks
Nannies in The Sims 4 are actually pretty helpful once they show up. They’ll cook meals, tidy up a bit, and even jump in to help kids with their homework on their own.
If you’ve got toddlers at home, the nanny will also work on building their skills while you’re away.
Hiring a Live-In Nanny
In The Sims 4, you can’t hire a live-in nanny. The game just doesn’t include that option. Your Sims are expected to handle most of the childcare themselves.
Nannies only come over when you call them. Once their shift is over, they leave the house.
Kyle Kyleson is basically the closest thing The Sims 4 has to a live-in nanny. He comes with the Growing Together expansion pack and loves inviting himself over for extended stays.
If he calls and asks to stay for a while, just say yes. He’ll move in temporarily and start helping around the house.
Even though he’s Clumsy and Lazy, Kyle is surprisingly great with kids. He’ll clean up, cook, chat with your Sims, and yes, even babysit your toddlers.
He’s genuinely helpful and really good at taking care of children, making him a perfect unofficial live-in nanny.
Happy Simming!
