Create Your Own Townies in The Sims 4

The Sims 4 constantly generates new townies to fill specific service roles. It also uses them to give your Sims new friends to meet. But this can sometimes create way too many townies… or weird and ugly townies.

You cannot stop The Sims 4 from generating new townies. What you can do is create your own townies, set them as unplayed and homeless, and assign them specific service roles.

To Populate The Sims 4 World With Your Own Sims

1. Start a new save
2. Go to household management, and delete all pre-existing townies
3. Import your own Sim families, or download them from the gallery
4. Move some of them into households and leave most of them homeless
5. Select a few Sims and max their skills to fill specific roles
6. Download MCCC and use the Population Control settings to keep the townie population under control

You can also try to reduce the townie generation rate by installing MCCC.

Use the Population Module and instruct the game to maintain the homeless Sim population at zero.

You can tweak your MCCC settings in the following manner:

1. Click on a computer
2. Go to MCCC settings
3. Set Open Houses to 100
4. Max Homeless Sims to 0 (zero)

This will prevent The Sims 4 from generating new homeless bin Sims and moving them into households.

Depending on the venues available in your world, you’ll need chefs, gym trainers, bartenders, and so on. Use cheats to max your Sims’ skills instantly and assign them specific roles.

Assigning particular service roles to your Sims is crucial. This is a time-consuming task. But you need to do it to prevent the game from generating new townies to fill those roles.

Even if you have MCCC or other mods installed, the game will keep generating townies to fill any roles that haven’t been taken by your Sims. If you’re opposed to modding, this may not be the best solution for you.
