The Sims 4: How to Interview Homeowner About Utilities

If you’re playing The Sims 4 Eco-Lifestyle and have chosen the Civil Designer career path, you’ll need to interview homeowners about their bills and utilities as part of your daily tasks.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Find a Homeowner: Look for a Sim in their home or around the neighborhood.

2. Start a Friendly Conversation: Approach the Sim and initiate a friendly chat.

3. Select the Interview Option: After some small talk, choose the Interview option from the Friendly interactions menu.

If the option isn’t available right away when you approach Sims you’re friends with, find a townie you’ve never met. Talk to them a little, then see if the Interview option appears.

If it doesn’t, use your phone to travel to another town resident. Knock on their door, introduce yourself, and chat for a bit.

Then use the “Discuss neighborhood changes” interaction. After that, the option to interview about utilities should show up.

Getting a Cold Shoulder?

Sometimes, Sims may not like it when you ask about their bills and utilities. It’s more common than you think. In rare cases, they might even say you’ve offended them.

This usually happens if you ask without chatting first. This applies to friends, too. Strangers don’t like it when you get straight to the point without building some rapport.

That’s why you should work on your charisma skill. As your charisma improves, your social interactions will go smoothly, and your Sim will become more confident.

Happy Simming!
