If a baby is taken away for neglect in The Sims 4, it can be stressful seeing them removed from your household. Fortunately, there are ways to get the baby back.
Quit Without Saving
As soon as you see the notification that social services took your baby, quit the game without saving.
The key reason to quit without saving is to stop the game’s auto-save from recording the event. If you exit immediately, the next time you launch the game, the baby should still be in your household.
Transfer Sims Between Households
When a baby or toddler is taken away, the game doesn’t delete them right away. Instead, they appear in the Household Management tab in Manage Worlds.
From there, you can add them back to your household.
First, go to Manage Worlds, then save and open Manage Worlds again.
Pick the household you want, click More Options, and choose Transfer Sims between households.
Select the baby under Not in World and add them back to your household.
You need to move quickly because the game deletes babies shortly after they vanish. If this method doesn’t work, there’s another solution you can try.
Use an Earlier Save
Another way to recover a missing baby is by using an earlier save. First, exit the game without saving.
On the Main screen, select your game and then choose the Recover Save option at the bottom.
Pick the save you made before the baby disappeared and start playing from that file.
This should restore your household with the baby.
⇒ Quick Tip:
If you have MCCC installed, you can set it so neglected toddlers get adopted into another household automatically.
Once that happens, you can transfer the toddler back to your household whenever you want.
Happy Simming!
