By default, adult Sims can have three personality traits in The Sims 4. If you want to give your Sims more personality traits, you can use MC Command Center (MCCC) or the More Traits in CAS mod.
Use MCCC to add more traits to your Sim.
The MC Command Center mod allows you to add additional traits directly to your Sim.
After installing MCCC, you first need to enable Debug Commands in Cheats.
Click on a computer and go to:
MC Command Center → MCCC Settings → Notification/Console/Menu Settings → Console Command Settings → Debug Commands in Cheats
Enable the option.
Then open the Cheat Console and enter testingcheats true.
Hold Shift and click your Sim, then select:
Cheat Sim Info → Add Trait
Choose the traits you want to add to your Sim.

Use More Traits in CAS to add extra trait slots.
The More Traits in CAS mod adds additional trait slots directly to Create-a-Sim.
With the mod installed, adult Sims can have up to five personality traits, teens can have four, children can have three, and toddlers can have two.
Simply open CAS after installing the mod and you’ll see the additional trait slots.
You don’t have to fill every slot. If you only want your Sim to have four traits instead of five, for example, you can leave one of the slots empty.
The mod can conflict with certain other mods, including KingZace More Clubs Per Sim, Automatic Sunburns V10a, LessLongLivingActiveSims, and some versions of MoreTraitsMod. Check the mod creator’s information before installing it alongside other mods.

Use Growing Together if you don’t want to install a mod.
If you don’t want to use mods, Growing Together offers another option through its self-discovery system, which allows Sims to gain additional personality traits.
If you prefer to keep your game mod-free, Growing Together offers another way to give Sims additional personality traits.
Its self-discovery system can allow Sims to unlock additional traits as they experience different situations throughout their lives.
In the base game, toddlers can have one personality trait, children can have one, teens can have two, and young adults and older Sims can have three.
With Growing Together, Sims can gain additional traits through the self-discovery system.
