Sims 4 Weddings: Get Guests to Sit Down

Sims love celebrating romance, and weddings are supposed to feel special instead of chaotic. With My Wedding Stories installed, you get a lot more control over how the big day plays out, right down to guest behavior.

One of the biggest frustrations for many Simmers is getting guests to actually sit down and watch the wedding ceremony. Just as the ceremony is about to start, everyone suddenly wandes off to chat, grab water, or stare at something.

The good news is that you can easily fix this problem with a really helpful interaction. When you click on a wedding chair or a table at the venue, you will see an option that asks guests to take their seats. Using this option tells everyone to sit and pay attention to the ceremony.

They stop wandering and actually behave like wedding guests for once. Because of this, there is no real need to rely on mods just to keep people seated.

Once the ceremony wraps up, you can keep the good vibes going by serving cake and letting guests enjoy the celebration.

What if I Don’t Own My Wedding Stories?

If you do not own the pack, things get a bit trickier. Some players still use mods that force Sims to sit during weddings. Others try a few in-game workarounds to encourage better behavior.

One thing that sometimes helps is starting the ceremony when guests are already close to the wedding arch. They will usually watch, even if they do not always sit perfectly.

Another option is calling everyone to eat near the seating area. Sims tend to cooperate more when food is involved and may sit on their own.

You can also form a group with the Sim who is getting married and invite as many guests as possible. Walking them over to the venue together increases the chance they stay put once the ceremony begins.

And if none of that works, it helps to accept a little chaos. Some weddings end up being just the couple, a few attentive Sims, and plenty of empty chairs.

Happy Simming!
