Where to Find Fireleaf and Poison Fireleaf in The Sims 4

Some plants practically throw themselves at you in The Sims 4. Basil, sage, carrots, mushrooms, you’ll trip over these within your first few gardening sessions.

Other plants will make you question your gameplay choices. Muckleberry and Fireleaf fall squarely into that category. Be ready to burn some real time hunting these down.

Your best bet to find Fireleaf is Granite Falls, specifically around the Hermit’s cave in the National Park, and near the waterfall fishing spot.

Spawns are random, so on some visits you’ll only turn up Fireleaf, and on others only Poison Fireleaf. If you’re really lucky, you’ll find both growing side by side.

Don’t skip the area around the cabins and the public restroom, either. You can find Fireleaf tucked behind the restroom building.

One thing that trips people up: these plants need time to grow, and Granite Falls lots don’t progress while you’re not actually there.

If you fly in, glance around for five minutes, and leave disappointed, that’s probably why. Plan on sticking around for a few in-game days if you’re hunting something specific.

If Fireleaf isn’t showing up, pull up some of the existing wild plants and let the game respawn something in their place. It’s random what grows back, so this is basically a reroll but sometimes a reroll is all it takes. Then just wait around for the new plants to pop up.

A quick note on what happens if you eat them: Fireleaf gives your Sim a Happy moodlet for 4 hours. Poison Fireleaf does the opposite, it’ll make your Sim Angry for 2 hours, so maybe don’t snack on it right before a big social event.

You can use Fireleaf and Poison Fireleaf to unlock new recipes:

Fireleaf Extract: 2 Poison Fireleaf, 2 Morel Mushrooms, 1 Fire Ant. This one’s rough on your Sim, giving them an Unrelenting Itch and an upset stomach for a full 8 hours.

Natural Herbicide Oil: 2 Toxic Chamomile, 3 Fireleaf, 1 Stink Bug. Handy for clearing weeds out of your garden.

Energizer Infusion: 3 Muckleberry, 2 Poison Fireleaf, 1 Dragonfly. Gives your Sim an Energized buff for 4 hours — solid for late-night grinding.

Rage Relieving Salve: 3 Noxious Elderberry, 2 Fireleaf, 1 Tomato, 1 Rainbow Firefly. Useful for wiping out Angry moodlets, including the one you just gave yourself by eating Poison Fireleaf.
