Send your teenage Sim to school.
Find the Principal’s office on the school lot.
Click on the Principal and choose Drop Out of High School.
Alternatively, click on the Principal’s computer and select the same option.
The game will ask if you’re sure. Once you confirm, your Sim is out for good. There’s no re-enroll option.
Your Sim no longer attends school or gets homework.
They lose access to school-related interactions, grades, and any related rewards.
Their daily schedule opens up completely, since they’re no longer tied to school activities.
If you don’t want to fully drop out, you have a couple of alternatives.
Age up to Young Adult. Aging up moves your Sim past high school automatically, no dropout needed.
Skip classes. This doesn’t remove them from school, but repeated skipping tanks their grades and can lead to the Embarrassed moodlet and a trip to the Principal’s office.
If you own Seasons, you can take this strategy even further by creating a custom holiday on every weekday and enabling the Day Off School tradition. You could call it something like “Homeschool Day.”
This lets your child and teen Sims stay home every day to complete homework, work on school projects, and build skills without attending class.
If your teen drops out of high school, they can’t re-enroll later. Once they age up to a Young Adult, the only way to earn a high school diploma is by completing the online diploma program.
To do this, click on any computer and navigate to Career > Work Toward a High School Diploma. Enrolling in the online diploma program costs 250 Simoleons.
The course doesn’t have any special requirements and only takes a few in-game hours to complete. Once your Sim graduates, they’ll receive a congratulatory notification, and their official diploma will arrive in the mail a few days later.
After earning their diploma, your Sim can pursue any career without the restrictions of being a dropout. They’ll also have a much better chance of being accepted into university.
