How to Get Rich Fast in The Sims 4 Cottage Living

If you’ve jumped into The Sims 4: Cottage Living, you’ve probably noticed that life in Henford-on-Bagley can get expensive fast. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to earn Simoleons quickly if you know where to start.

Catch Fish and Earn Cash

If you’re low on funds, head to a fishing spot in your neighborhood, catch some fish, and sell them for a quick buck.

Also, don’t forget about the Water Tool in Cottage Living. You can use it to create ponds on your lot.

Stock these ponds with fish, and you’ll have your own personal fishing spot.

Harvest Wild Berries and Mushrooms

Head to the ruins near the Blumblewoods around 5 AM and stay until 6 AM. You’ll find various wild plants to harvest, which you can then sell for cash.

Collect blueberries, raspberries, or forage mushrooms to earn some extra money.

Running Errands for Extra Cash

While waiting for your crops to grow, why not run some errands? You can earn about 90 Simoleons for each errand completed, with some paying over 150 Simoleons.

Selling Produce and Canned Goods at Market Stalls

Visit the market stalls near the pub and sell excess milk, eggs, vegetables, and other produce for quick cash. If you wait for a festival like the Finchwick Fair to sell, you’ll get 10 percent more for your items.

⇒ Pro Tip:

  • If you can get or make a golden treat, feed it to a chicken to turn it into a Golden Chicken. It will make all the plants on your lot perfect, which sell for much higher prices.
  • Golden chickens will lay golden eggs, which are really valuable. Good-quality ones can go for around 500 Simoleons each.

You can keep 7 hens and 1 rooster in a coop to get hatchable eggs, which sell for 20 Simoleons each.

Successful haggling also earns you a bonus, so give it a try.  Level up the Charisma skill so you can haggle for a greater profit.

Hold on to your produce and canned goods until Saturday at 3 PM, during the Finchwick Fair. Then head to the food or garden stall and haggle a bit. You can get 25% profit instead of just 10% on your canned goods and other items from those stalls.

Canning makes a lot more money than just selling the harvest.

Don’t forget about selling llama wool for a tidy profit. You can earn 210 Simoleons by selling llama wool each day.

You can use llama wool to make cross-stitch items and sell them on Plopsy if you have the Nifty Knitting pack.

Selling Oversized Crops

Oversized crops can make you a nice profit, even though their seeds cost a bit more. Pumpkins are especially worth it. Each one usually sells for over 200 Simoleons, so they’re a great money-maker.

Selling Items to the Creature Keeper

If you want to get rid of items in your inventory, try selling them to the Creature Keeper. He pays almost three times the normal price, so it’s a great way to make extra Simoleons.

Setting Up Your Own Farm Market

You can create a market to sell crops and produce directly from your farm. What’s great is that you can increase prices up to three times their normal value.

This means you’ll earn more money than selling items at the market stalls near the pub.

For instance, a Golden Treat typically costs 485 Simoleons, but you can sell it for 1,455 Simoleons, or three times the cost.

Saving Money in Cottage Living

Breeding Chickens

While you can’t breed large animals like cows and llamas, you can breed chickens. Place a hen and a rooster in the coop to breed your own chickens, saving you money on purchasing them.

Grow Your Own Food

Instead of ordering food from Zoomers Food Delivery, grow your own cooking ingredients. Plant a garden and cultivate vegetables, fruits, and herbs. You can also raise livestock for eggs, milk, and wool.

Cook at Home

Use the fruits and veggies from your garden or farm to cook meals at home. It saves money and lets you make sure your food is fresh and high-quality.

Happy Simming!
