Playing The Sims 4 off the grid is fun until the dust starts piling up. The only way to remove it completely is with a vacuum. But this can be frustrating since EA still hasn’t added an option to clean with a broom.
Upgrade Your Vacuum Cleaner
You can upgrade your vacuum cleaner to work off the grid in The Sims 4.
With the Self-Charging Power Cell upgrade, they don’t need to be plugged in and can run completely without electricity, making dust cleanup much easier when living off the grid.
You need three electronic upgrade parts to upgrade your vacuum cleaner so that it works off the grid. Of course, you also need a high-enough Handiness skill to get the job done.
Learn the Scruberoo spell
Another option is to play as a spellcaster who knows the Scruberoo spell. It’s a magical way to clean without needing electricity or a vacuum, which comes in handy when living off the grid.
Disable the Dust Effect
You can turn off the dust effect in Game Options if it gets too annoying. It might seem fun at first, but dust bunnies can actually cause trouble. They can randomly start fires when Sims step on them.
