The Sims 4: Do This if Chickens Are Afraid All the Time

In Sims 4 Cottage Living, chickens often look scared because wild foxes are lurking around. Foxes steal eggs and can even kill your chickens, so it’s no wonder they’re on edge.

If your chickens appear scared, it’s essential to reassure them and ensure they feel safe. When they are afraid, they become unhappy, and they might stop laying eggs that can hatch.

Use Friendly Interactions

Comfort your chickens by using friendly interactions. Approach them and spend time with them, offering reassurance and support.

Feed them, clean their coop, and treat them to tasty snacks. This helps them feel safe and secure.

Place a Llama Shed Near Your Coop

To keep foxes away, put a llama shed near your coop. Llamas hate foxes and will spit to scare them off, making your chickens feel safe.

Get a Rooster and an Evil Chicken

To protect your coop, always have a rooster around, they defend hens and chicks from foxes. Or, go the wild route: feed your chickens Obsidian or spicy treats to make them evil.

Evil chickens can even take out foxes, giving your coop serious extra protection.

Install a Fox-Be-Gone Alarm

If you want your chickens to feel safe, try installing a Fox-Be-Gone alarm. First, do some tasks for the villagers to get Livestock Upgrade Parts. Then, use these to buy and set up the alarm.

Befriend the Foxes

Another approach is to befriend the foxes themselves. By offering them treats and being friendly, they’re more likely to stay away from your chicken coop.

If you don’t have the time to befriend the foxes, keep them at bay.

Get a Dog

If you have the Cats & Dogs expansion, get a big dog. They can chase away foxes quickly and keep your chickens safe.

Disable the Wild Foxes Lot Challenge

To skip the hassle, turn off the Wild Foxes Lot Challenge. With it off, foxes might still show up, but they won’t steal eggs or hurt your chickens . Basically, they won’t cause any trouble.

Happy Simming!
