You can build your own fishing pond in The Sims 4 and stock it with fish you catch around the world. Once it’s stocked, your Sims can fish directly from their home lot.
Start by using the Lower Terrain tool to dig a hole on your lot.
Shape it however you want, then switch to the Water Tools and use Fill Water to Level to fill the pond.
Once the pond is finished, you can decorate it with Outdoor Water Decor, including plants, rocks, logs, ducks, and swans.
Before your Sims can fish from the pond, you need to add a Fishing Allowed Sign.
Go into Build Mode, open Outdoor Water Decor, find the Fishing Allowed Sign, and place it in your pond.
Next, go out fishing and catch some fish.
Keep them in your Sim’s inventory, then return home and click the fishing sign.
Select Stock Pond With Fish and choose the fish you want to add.
Once the pond has been stocked, your Sims can fish there normally.
If you haven’t stocked the pond yet, the fishing interaction will be greyed out. The game will tell you that the pond needs to be stocked first and that you need to place a Fishing Allowed Sign.
You can also use Grocery Delivery to purchase fish and use them to stock your pond.
However, this doesn’t work for every type of fish. If you want to stock your pond with rare fish, you’ll need to catch them yourself.
So if you’re trying to add Rainbowfish, Angelfish, or another rare fish to your home pond, you’ll have to find the fish in the world and catch it first.
Once you’ve caught the fish you want, just bring it home and use the Fishing Allowed Sign to stock the pond.
