Here’s Why Your Babies Are Black in The Sims 4

Some players have noticed that Sims with light skin sometimes have babies with dark skin. Here’s why this might happen.

Using Custom Content Skin Tones

If you use custom skin tones, the baby’s skin might appear darker until they become toddlers. The game can sometimes mix up CC skin tones.

This issue is common when using mods like MC Command Center for teen pregnancies.

You can fix it with the command cas.fulleditmode. Future generations shouldn’t have this problem.

Remove Skins, Mods, and CC

Try removing all skins, mods, and custom content. Start a new game and check your Sims’ skin tones. This can help identify if the issue is with the custom content.

A Never-Ending Game Bug

This has actually been a known issue since The Sims 4 first launched. Dark-skinned babies are just one example of the many bugs in the game, and some of these problems have been around for years.

Babies can have weird skintones at first, but once they grow into toddlers, the glitch usually fixes itself, and their skintone ends up matching their genetics.

There’s no need to check the family tree to figure out who the dad is.

Keep in mind that Sim babies are treated as objects, not full Sims, so they don’t have nearly as many options or features as actual Sims.

Happy Simming!
