If the Batfish is the last fish missing from your Sim’s collection, you’ll need to visit one of the game’s hidden fishing spots.
You can catch Batfish in Forgotten Grotto, the hidden area in Oasis Springs.
You don’t necessarily need bait, but using a small or medium fish as bait can improve your chances of catching one.
If your Sim has been fishing in Forgotten Grotto for ages without any luck, try using the Angle for Big Catch interaction.
Once your Sim reaches level 8 Fishing, they can also spot sparkling fishing signs. These indicate that rare fish can be caught at that particular fishing spot.
How do you get to Forgotten Grotto?
Before you can catch a Batfish, you need to unlock Forgotten Grotto.
The entrance is located in Oasis Springs. Go to the bathroom area in the local park and look for the abandoned mine entrance nearby.
Your Sim needs level 10 Handiness to break through the entrance. Once you’ve opened it, follow the path through the tunnels until you reach Forgotten Grotto.
Once you’ve finally caught one, you probably don’t want to leave it sitting in your inventory until it spoils.
You can put the Batfish in an aquarium or mount it on a wall as a decoration. Mounted Batfish also give your Sim a Confident aura.
If you’re completing the Fish collection, I’d definitely keep the Batfish somewhere safe rather than risking losing it to spoilage.
