Sometimes, just like real life, your Sim might put up a fuss about going to school. Here’s what you can do when your kids and teens refuse to go to school in The Sims 4.
1. Reload and Retry
Sometimes, a quick exit and re-entry into the game can iron out glitches. Remember to save before doing so.
2. Clear the Path
Ensure there’s nothing blocking your Sim’s way out the door. Wonky stairs or something blocking the door can be culprits. Rearrange your house layout if needed to make sure everything’s accessible.
3. Dress to Impress
A grumpy Sim might just need a wardrobe change. Swap out their school outfit for a new one to see if that does the trick.
Just like in real life, wearing an outfit that doesn’t suit their mood can put a damper on their day. By swapping out their current school outfit for something fresh and more to their liking, you give your Sim the opportunity to start their day on a better note.
4. Change of Scenery
Travel with your Sims to a different lot and see if their school aversion disappears. Check if you can send them to school from a different lot.
5. Check Your Mods Folder
When things go wonky, start by checking your Mods folder. Temporarily move it elsewhere and restart the game. If the issue persists, try removing any Custom Content or Mods.
Also, if your save file has become corrupted, it could prevent Sims from going to school. Try repairing your game files using the EA App.
