Having werewolf babies in The Sims 4 works a lot like regular Sims, but with a few twists. Werewolves can get flirty, fall in love, and try for a baby in the same way, and they can even do all of this while in werewolf form.
The pregnancy shows up a bit differently because werewolves have a more masculine body frame, so their belly shape looks unusual.
But one thing to remember is that a werewolf can’t give birth while transformed. They need to switch back to human form first.
Werewolf Genetics
The genetics are straightforward. If both parents are werewolves, the baby will be one too.
If only one parent is a werewolf, the baby has a 50/50 chance of inheriting the werewolf trait.
The werewolf gene can sometimes skip a generation.
There are two types of werewolves genetically:
- Greater-Blood werewolves, who come with a full set of abilities
- Dormant werewolves, who don’t have any active skills right away
The “Dormant Wolf” mention is visible in their traits bar. This means they carry the werewolf gene, but it’s inactive. Even though they don’t have any active werewolf abilities, the gene can re-emerge in the next generation.
To awaken a dormant werewolf’s powers, you just have them swim in Lake Lunvik under a full moon.
Werewolf traits show up early. Toddlers with werewolf genes can howl and chew on their toys, and once they reach teenage years, all their abilities unlock.
Fur Is Not Genetic
One thing that can catch players off guard in The Sims 4 werewolf gameplay is how werewolf fur works. Unlike traits or abilities, werewolf fur is not genetic.
That means even if a teen Sim inherits werewolf powers from their parents, their fur pattern, color, and markings won’t automatically match.
For players who spend time customizing a Sim’s appearance, this can be a little frustrating. Creating a unique look for your werewolf and then expecting the child to reflect similar features doesn’t happen.
Speaking of werewolf babies, a fun twist involves Greg.
Female Sims can woohoo with him and get pregnant, which Simmers jokingly call being “gregnant.” The tricky part is building a relationship with him and getting him into a flirty mood, since he’s morose and not easy to charm.
Happy Simming!
