If you’re excited for a new addition to your Sims’ family, you’re probably wondering whether it’ll be a boy, a girl, twins, or even triplets.
If you’re playing a multi-generational legacy game, having plenty of babies is key to keeping the family line going.
Here’s how you can increase the odds of having twins and triplets in The Sims 4.
Increase Your Chances of Twins and Triplets
If your Sim has the Fertile trait and gets pregnant on their first “Try for Baby” attempt, their chances of having twins go up a lot.
If one or both parents are twins, it increases the odds of having twins. Genetics play a role, so a family history of twins can influence your Sim’s chance of twins or triplets.
→ Fun Fact
- Did you know that in The Sims 4, there’s a 98 percent chance of your Sims having a single baby, a 10 percent chance of twins, and only a 1 percent chance of triplets?
If you have the City Living expansion, try conceiving on a lot with the On Ley-Line trait. It gives a big boost to the chances of having twins or triplets.
Sims who reach level 10 in Herbalism (Outdoor Retreat) can craft the Elixir of Fertility. Drinking it greatly increases the odds of multiple births.
With the Spa Day pack, your Sim can get a Fertility Massage. This gives the Fertility Boost moodlet, which significantly raises the chances of conceiving twins when trying for a baby.
By the way, having a science baby can definitely boost the chances of twins or triplets.
Alien abductions can also lead to twins or even triplets. If a Sim gets taken by aliens, there’s a chance they could return pregnant with twins or triplets.
The Best Combo for Twins and Triples
Even if your Sim combines the On Ley-Line lot, the Fertile trait, and a Fertility Massage from Spa Day, the chance of twins or triplets is still only around 3–5% per pregnancy.
Triplets are still pretty rare, only about a 1 in 10 chance. Twins, on the other hand, are much easier to get.
Happy Simming!
