Are your Sims completely drained, but they only sleep for about 20-30 Sim minutes before waking up again? Do this!
1. Turn the Radio Off
If your Sims keep getting out of bed for no reason, check if there’s a radio in their room!
Sims are easily distracted, and if a stereo is playing nearby, they might not be able to sleep. To fix this, just turn off the stereo before your Sim goes to sleep.
Stereos in The Sims 4 are pure chaos. Sims will never turn them off on their own, but the second they see one, it’s like an uncontrollable urge takes over—must… turn… on… music… and… dance!
2. Improve Comfort
Replace your Sim’s bed with a higher quality one. Look for options that offer better comfort and energy restoration for your Sim.
Add comfort items like a nightstand with a lamp and some really nice plants. Explore the Build/Buy mode in the game to find various decorative items to enhance your Sim’s bedroom.
3. Adjust Room Temperature
Install a thermostat from the Eco Lifestyle expansion pack to regulate the room temperature. Sims may not sleep well if it’s too hot or cold.
Ensure the thermostat is set to a temperature that promotes restful sleep for your Sims.
4. Address Needs
Make sure your Sim’s needs are fulfilled before bedtime. If they’re hungry, uncomfortable, or need to use the bathroom, attend to those needs first.
5. Remove Disruptive Moodlets and Traits
Certain traits like “Active” can make Sims more prone to staying awake. Consider removing or balancing these traits through gameplay or with cheats.
When Sims feel energized, they experience a boost in energy and enthusiasm. This moodlet can be triggered by various activities such as exercising, or drinking coffee. Sims with the energized moodlet may find it harder to wind down and fall asleep.
Try to avoid activities that trigger the energized moodlet close to bedtime.
6. Resolve Conflicts
If your Sims have negative relationships with each other, they may refuse to share a bed. Work on improving their relationships through interactions and socializing.
7. Fix Glitches
If your Sim is stuck or glitched, you can reset them by entering the testingcheats true cheat in the game console and then shift-clicking on the Sim to select the “Reset Object (Debug)” option.
Ensure your game is up to date with the latest patches and that any mods or custom content you’re using are compatible with the current version of the game.
