It’s really frustrating when your Sims get stuck and won’t budge. Here’s how to fix this glitch.
Fix 1: Clear the Path
Sims often get stuck because something’s in their way. Find what it is and move it out of the path.
This often happens when your Sim can’t get to bed and rest.
If your Sim is stuck in the bathroom, go into Build Mode, swap out the door, and see if that helps.
Fix 2: Restart the Game
Sometimes, just restarting the game can fix the problem. Save your progress, close it down, and start the game up again to see if that sorts things out.
If the problem sticks around, you might have to reset the stuck Sim.
Fix 3: Reset Your Sims
When your Sims are stuck and won’t cooperate, resetting them can do the trick. There are two ways to do this:
- Using the ResetSim Command:
- Press and hold CTRL + Shift + C to open the cheat window.
- Type
resetSim Firstname Lastnameand hit Enter.- For example, to reset John Doe, type
resetSim John Doe. To reset all Sims, type “resetSim *”.
- For example, to reset John Doe, type
- Using Testingcheats True:
- Press and hold CTRL + Shift + C to open the cheat window.
- Type
testingcheats trueand hit Enter. - Press Shift and click on the stuck Sim.
- Choose
Reset Object (Debug)
Fix 4: Use the Teleport Cheat
Open the cheat console by pressing Ctrl+Shift+C, then type testingcheats true and press Enter.
While holding Shift, click on the ground where you want your Sim to go. Choose Teleport Here from the options that appear on the screen.
Fix 5: Delete Things that Move Autonomously
Deleting items that move on their own without needing interaction, like vacuums and sprinklers, seems to solve the problem.
Happy Simming!
