Teenage Sims can make money by pursuing the Video Game Streamer career. The career was introduced with The Sims 4: High School Years and gives Sims a way to earn money by livestreaming games and building a following.
To become a Video Game Streamer, click on your Sim’s Phone, select Find a Job, and choose Video Game Streamer.
Your Sim can livestream games using a computer. Playing games on the computer also helps improve the Video Gaming skill, which is useful for progressing in the career.
There are three levels in the Video Game Streamer career:
- Casual Gamer
- Speedrunner
- Pro Gamer
Pro Gamers earn §61 per hour and can also receive tips from their followers.
The main way to progress as a Video Game Streamer is to improve your Video Gaming skill and livestream regularly.
To start a livestream, click on a Computer, select Career, and choose Livestream. You can then select the game your Sim wants to stream.
After the livestream ends, you’ll receive a notification showing how many viewers watched the stream.
Your Sim can also gain followers by livestreaming regularly.
Video Game Streamers work for only two hours a day. The career has two possible schedules:
5:30 AM to 7:30 AM
9 PM to 11 PM
The short working hours make it possible for teenage Sims to balance the career with school.
Your Sim can also receive different career tasks, including:
Cross-promote the side hustle at a non-residential venue
Talk to a friend about the side hustle
Update business information with a headshot
Change their avatar
Livestream an unreleased game
Livestream with a friend
Get Extra Funding As A Video Game Streamer
Video Game Streamers can use the Entrepreneur skill to get additional funding for their side hustle.
After reaching Level 3 of the Video Game Streamer career, your Sim can research a business plan using a computer.
Click on the Computer, select Career, and choose Research Business Plan.
The completed business plan will appear in your Sim’s inventory. Click on it and select Contact Angel Investor to try to secure funding.
You can create multiple business plans and contact investors more than once.
Your Sim can also try to get funding from Llama’s Lair. Having a high Charisma skill and a strong business plan can help with this.
At Level 2, your Sim may receive a task to livestream an unreleased game.
If the Livestream Unreleased Game interaction doesn’t appear on the computer, try livestreaming The Sims Infinite instead.
This can complete the career task even though the interaction doesn’t specifically say that you’re livestreaming an unreleased game.
Your teenage Sim can drop out of high school and focus on their Video Game Streamer career instead.
A high school diploma isn’t required to pursue the Video Game Streamer career.
