Just like in real life, not all Sims can afford to go to college. However, if your Sim really wants to attend university, they can get a loan.
This loan will help them enroll and pay for their education.
Remember, your Sim needs to pay for each university term. The cost depends on factors like their field of study and the classes they take.
How to Pay Back Your Loan in Discover University
- Go to your mailbox.
- Select “Pay Back Loan.“
Once this option is selected, your Sim will be debt-free regarding university fees. Paying back the student loan will be a great relief for your Sim.
Like in real life, the loan comes with interest. It’s best to pay off the loan quickly to avoid high-interest rates.
When your Sim takes out a student loan, there’s a minimum amount they have to pay. But you’re not stuck paying only that amount!
You can choose to pay more or even pay off the entire loan at once if you want to get rid of it faster.
Option 1 – Get a Scholarship
If your Sim receives a scholarship, they will pay less for attending university. The scholarship amount is applied to the total amount owed for the term, reducing the overall university fee.
Option 2 – Use Household Funds
You can use household funds to pay university fees. However, as a student, this might lead to situations where you don’t have enough money to cover the fees.
If your Sim decides not to pay back their student loans in The Sims 4, there are consequences. Some of their possessions may be repossessed to help pay off some of the debt.
If your Sim falls behind again, the repo man won’t give up. He’ll keep showing up at your door.
So be ready to manage those payments, or things could get messy!
Happy Simming!
