With the right ingredients and a little practice, your Sims can make delicious pies that will impress everyone.
Your Sim needs to reach level 5 in cooking before most pies become available.
When you go to make one, you’ll usually find the recipes under the Cooking menu, way down the list. A few recipes might show up under Baking depending on the type of pie you want to make.
When you open the menu, scroll through until you find the pie you want.
If you don’t see the recipe at first, try looking under Cook Together, because sometimes recipes shift around depending on your game setup and mods you’re using.
The first pie recipes available are apple pie, pumpkin pie, meat pie, blueberry pie, and chocolate pie.
Once your Sim develops baking skills and experiments with different recipes, more pie options appear under the Baking section.

- It’s only unlocked once your Sim reaches level 10 in baking.
- To make it, you need to milk a Cowplant and use that essence as an ingredient.

- You need Get to Work to unlock this special recipe.
Have all the ingredients ready in your Sim’s inventory or fridge before you start making pies. If anything is missing, the option to make the pie won’t show up.
For a chocolate pie, for example, you’ll need ingredients like Chocoberries or chocolate syrup.
Make sure your kitchen has a functional counter and oven. Even though it might seem like some pies could be made on the stovetop, the recipes won’t appear if the oven isn’t functional.
Check the oven to see if something’s still inside. If the “Empty Oven” option is available, select it before trying to bake your pie.
Both Simple Living and Off the Grid lot traits in The Sims 4 can affect cooking, including making pies, but in slightly different ways. Make sure to disable them before trying to make a pie.
Sims on an Off the Grid lot cannot automatically connect to utilities unless you have solar panels, water pumps, or generators. Electric appliances will not work if you’re off the grid. So if you try to bake a pie in a standard oven, it won’t work.

- Level up cooking: Your Sim needs to reach level 5 in cooking to unlock most pie recipes.
- Gather ingredients: Make sure all the ingredients are ready in your Sim’s inventory or fridge.
- Check the oven: Your kitchen must have a working oven.

- Open the EA App and go to your Game Library.
- Click the three dots next to The Sims 4, then select Repair.
- Wait for the process to finish, then launch the game.
Once you select the pie you want to make, your Sim will prepare it, and soon enough, you’ll have a fresh pie to serve.
