If your Sim has been collecting everything they can get their hands on, eventually you’ll need somewhere to put it all.
Collections can take up a ridiculous amount of space, especially once your Sim starts completing several of them.
The easiest solution is to give your Sim a dedicated collection room.
If they’re a serious collector with several completed collections, you can go even further and dedicate an entire floor or basement to them.
The bb.moveobjects on cheat is also really useful here. It lets you place objects closer together and make better use of the available space.
If you don’t want to use mods, there are still plenty of ways to fit larger collection items into a small space.
Large dining tables work well for things like frog terrariums and fossils. You can fit several items on a single table, usually around four or five depending on their size.
Frog terrariums can also simply be placed on the floor if you’re running out of table space.
For metals and crystals, the base-game console table with a lower shelf is pretty useful. You can put larger items on the top and smaller ones on the shelf underneath, allowing you to display several pieces without taking up too much floor space.
Shelves are your best option for smaller collectibles. You can line an entire wall with them and keep all the little objects organized without filling up the room.
For wall-mounted collections, space prints and fish work particularly well. You can mount caught fish on the wall instead of taking up valuable floor or shelf space.
If you have a lot of larger objects to display, you can use bb.moveobjects on to create the illusion of stacked tables.
Place your collection items on the tables first, then use the 0 and 9 keys to move the tables up and down until you get the arrangement you want.
The tables aren’t actually stacked. You’re basically using MoveObjects to position them at different heights, so it only looks like they’re stacked.
Frog collections are probably one of the easiest to run out of space for because the terrariums are fairly bulky.
You can place the frog terrariums directly on the floor, or put several of them on large dining tables. If you’re using bb.moveobjects on, you can also stack the tables vertically to create multiple display levels.
For a large collection, I’d probably dedicate a basement or separate room to it.
Otherwise, those frog terrariums can take over the whole house pretty quickly.
