The Sims 4: A Guide to Adding and Raising Foundations

Your Sims’ home should be a cozy place that makes them feel comfortable. However, some building tasks can be tricky. This guide will teach you everything about building solid house foundations in the game.

Changing Foundation Height

Using the Transparent Box

1. Click on any room in build mode to see a transparent box that represents the walls and foundations.

2. Inside this box, there is a slider with arrows pointing up and down that allows you to raise the foundations.

3. By clicking and dragging this slider, you can adjust the foundation height for the entire house automatically.

The transparent box replaced the old foundation slider and can be hard to spot at first.

Using the Foundations Section

1. In build mode, click on the Foundations”category in the bottom left corner of the screen.

2. Select one of the offered designs (bricks, stone, etc.) and use the slider to set the foundation height where you prefer.

This method allows you to see the design of your foundation around the house, making it easier and more enjoyable to use

Important Notes on Foundations

  • All rooms touching the foundation will have the same height. You don’t need to adjust each room individually.
  • You can add different foundations to different parts of the lot.

Removing Foundations

You can’t remove foundations completely, but you can lower the height:

  1. Go to the center of the room.
  2. Find the up and down arrow box.
  3. Move it down until it reaches a negative value.

This box lets you adjust the foundation height in any direction. Use it to raise or lower foundations as needed.

Happy Simming! ❤️
